PCM, TCM communication

DETECTION CONDITION

• C1119
– The engine speed signal from the PCM is not within specification.
– The throttle angle signal from the PCM is not within specification.
• C1134
– The shift position signal from the PCM or TCM is not within specification.

POSSIBLE CAUSE

• A torque reduction inhibit signal is sent from the PCM.
• An abnormal signal is sent from the PCM and/or TCM.

Diagnostic procedure

INSPECT FOR PCM MALFUNCTION

• Turn the ignition switch off.
• Using the WDS or equivalent, perform the DTC inspection for the PCM and TCM.
• Are any DTCs detected?
Yes
Go to applicable DTC inspection.
(See DTC TABLE.)
No
Go to the next step.

VERIFY DTC TROUBLESHOOTING COMPLETED

• Make sure to reconnect all disconnected connectors.
• Clear the DTC from the memory.
• Is the same DTC present?
Yes
Repeat the inspection from Step 1.
If the malfunction recurs, replace the DSC HU/CM.
No
Go to the next step.

VERIFY AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE

• Is any other DTCs present?
Yes
Go to the applicable DTC inspection.
(See DTC Table.)
No
DTC troubleshooting completed.
